A brand identity and logo design for an eco-friendly plant shop
The Brief
AquaBloom is an emerging eco-friendly plant shop dedicated to bringing greenery and natural beauty into urban spaces. The shop offers a curated selection of houseplants, succulents, and hydroponic plants, along with environmentally friendly plant care products and resources. AquaBloom aims to promote sustainable living by encouraging plant enthusiasts to create thriving indoor gardens while minimizing their ecological footprint.Â
The main objectives of this logo design project are as follows:
Brand Concept: Create a logo that represents AquaBloom's core values of sustainability, growth, and connection with nature. The logo should evoke feelings of tranquility, harmony, and a sense of responsibility towards the environment.
Visual Elements: Incorporate elements that symbolize plant life, water, and growth, while maintaining a modern and minimalist aesthetic.
Target Audience: The logo should appeal to environmentally conscious individuals, urban gardeners, plant enthusiasts, and young professionals looking to add a touch of greenery to their living and working spaces.
Versatility: Design a logo that works well across various applications, including product labels, social media profiles, website branding, and physical signage.
The Process
Firstly, a mood board was created to convey the overall sense of feeling that the clients wished for the project. Their focus was conveying a feeling of tranquility and harmony, so I kept this focus in mind when creating this mood board.
Sketches were created and design choices were iterated through. As the target audience for this company is gardeners, plant enthusiasts, and young professionals, the client asked for a friendly and approachable design.
The process of iterating through various typefaces and illustration designs - deciding on line weight, size of the illustration, etc. A more organic design and asymmetry was chosen for the rocks, whereas a symmetrical design was chosen for the plant leaves to strike balance - further evoking feelings of harmony. A colour palette was also decided at this stage.
The completed logo was showcased using different colours from the palette to gauge what worked best.
